2 women wounded in shooting near Queens park, attackers fled in Jeep: police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Two women were shot across from a Queens park early Sunday by suspects who fled the scene in a Jeep, police said.

The victims were hit by gunfire at Merrick Boulevard and Foch Boulevard in St. Albans just before 5 a.m., according to police. The shooting location is across the street from Roy Wilkins Park.

A 24-year-old woman was shot in the foot and a 23-year-old woman was shot in the leg, police said.

Two men, ages 26 and 27, were also shot in their legs, the New York Post reported.

All of the victims were in stable condition at Jamaica Hospital, police said.

The suspects took off in a gray Jeep after the shooting, according to police, who said 15 shell casings were recovered from the scene.

An investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been reported.
