Dept. of Education releases list of 21 NYC buildings with confirmed COVID-19 cases from Friday to Monday

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYC Department of Education on Tuesday night released a list of 21 buildings which had a confirmed case of COVID-19 from Friday Sept. 18 to Monday Sept. 21.

The department said in a release that the following buildings "had a confirmed case and the individual had reported to the building. Close contacts are quarantined."

  3. KBPN     Beth Jacob Day Care Center (NYCEEC)
  4. M445     Seward Park Educational Campus 
  5. M165   P.S. 165 (REOPENED)
  6. R021      P.S. 21 
  7. R052      P.S. 52 
  8. Q263      P.S. /I.S 295 
  9. QBEU    All My Children @ 188th Street (NYCEEC)
  10. Q194      J.H.S. 194 
  11. QBNY    Divine Mercy Catholic Academy (NYCEEC)
  12. X790      Mott Haven Educational Campus 
  13. X131      J.H.S 131 Albert Einstein (CLOSED)
  14. X148      I.S. 219 New Ventures (REOPENED)
The following buildings "had a confirmed case and the individual had not reported to the building," so there is "no need for further action within the building," the department said:

  2. KAVF     Aim High Children’s Services 
  3. M019     P.S. 19 
  4. Q277      P.S. 182 
  5. Q189      J.H.S. 189 
  6. XBPF      Lutheran Social Services of Metropolitan New York (FCC)
  7. X079      P.S. 79 
The I.S. 219 New Ventures and P.S. 165 buildings each had two confirmed cases, and the buildings were closed for an initial 24-hour period while investigations were conducted. Both reopened on Tuesday.
J.H.S. 131 Albert Einstein on Monday had its second case within a week. The school was closed Tuesday and will reopen Wednesday following an investigation, which has concluded.
