3.1 magnitude earthquake hits central NJ, felt as far away as Long Island

EAST FREEHOLD (1010 WINS) – A magnitude 3.1 earthquake struck New Jersey on Wednesday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The quake hit about 1.25 miles southeast of East Freehold a little after 2 a.m. It was about 3 miles deep.

It “was felt in much of central New Jersey,” according to the National Weather Service.
