NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police were at the 14th and 23rd Street F train stations investigating reports that someone set off a firecracker on a subway car.
The parties responsible were apparently kids who lit the firecrackers in the last car of the train at the 23rd Street station.
There were no initial reports of injuries, just rattled nerves, however at least one ambulance was on the scene at 23rd Street.
NYC Transit President Andy Byford did not find the incident amusing.
“This is criminal, dangerous and abhorrent behavior, and we are working with the NYPD to ensure whoever did this is brought to justice,” he said.
No arrests have been made. The F train is back on service.
