NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a bicyclist they said knocked a 76-year-old man unconscious in the West Village earlier this month.

At around 7:30 p.m., on July 21, Antonio Hidalgo was walking on the sidewalk in front of a 99 cents pizza shop at 202 West 14 Street when he became involved in a verbal dispute with the cyclist.

The suspect yelled at Hidalgo before getting off of his bicycle and pushing the victim, the Daily News reports.

He fell back on the sidewalk and hit his head.

The cyclist was captured on video putting a slice of pizza down before the assault.

Hidalgo temporarily lost consciousness and sustained head trauma, police said. EMS transported him to Lenox Hill Hospital in stable condition where he was treated for a laceration to the back of his head.

The cyclist was last seen riding his bicycle eastbound on West 14 Street.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
