NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 44-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stripping Revel scooters for parts earlier this month, according to a report.
The man was arrested on Friday for swiping batteries from the scooters on two separate occasions, police sources told the New York Post. Police weren’t immediately able to provide additional details about the arrest or the thefts.
Last week, the 77th Precinct, which includes parts of Crown Heights and Prospect Heights in Brooklyn, asked residents to call 911 if they saw anyone “tampering” with a Revel scooter.
“These scooters are being targeted for their parts, leaving them unusable for other customers (maybe even you),” the precinct tweeted. “If you see something, say something.”
1010 WINS has reached out to Revel for comment.
