NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- McDonald's announced on Friday it will require customers to wear face coverings in its restaurants beginning August 1.
"While nearly 82% of our restaurants are in states or localities that require facial coverings for both crew and customers today, it’s important we protect the safety of all employees and customers," McDonald's said in a statement.
McDonald's said it would make masks available to customers who don’t have them upon entering one of its nearly 14,000 U.S. locations.
At McDonald's locations in the U.K., face coverings are already required. The video below shows a customer being asked to leave because he is not wearing a face covering.
