Fourth member of same NJ family dies from coronavirus

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The fourth member of one New Jersey family ravaged by coronavirus has died.

Vincent Fusco died Thursday at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold, said Roseann Paradiso Fodera, a cousin and the family's lawyer.

According to a GoFundMe page set up for the family, on March 10, six members of the Fusco Family were admitted to Centra State Hospital in Freehold, NJ with severe symptoms of the coronavirus.

On March 13, Vincent's sister, Rita-Fusco Jackson died -- making her the second person in NJ to succumb to the virus.

On Wednesday, Vincent’s mother died at CentraState Medical Center. His brother, Carmine also died Wednesday at St. Luke’s University Hospital-Bethlehem Campus, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Three other children remain hospitalized, two of them in critical condition, said Paradiso-Fodera.

Nineteen other family members have also been tested. They all remain under quarantine.

A person who had contact with a man who died in New Jersey on March 10 -- the state's first coronavirus victim, had attended a recent Fusco family gathering, the New York Times reported.

As of Thursday afternoon, there are 742 people with coronavirus in the Garden State - 318 of those cases are new. Nine people have died so far.
