NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A passenger aboard a JetBlue flight from JFK Airport has tested positive for the coronavirus after landing in Palm Beach, Florida Wednesday night, according to reports.

Flight 253 landed at Palm Beach International Airport just before 9 p.m., with 114 passengers and crew aboard but according to a report from WPTV, and remained on the tarmac for about three hours before proceeding to the gate.

The report adds that one of the passengers was taken to the back of the aircraft. "He was wearing masks and gloves. His wife was sitting in the same row as me and mentioned to others that he wasn’t feeling well," passenger Scott Rodman said.

Rodman adds that his wife had "gotten a phone call with his test results right before we had taken off, implying that he had a positive test but not actually saying it."

According to fire rescue officials, the Palm Beach County Health Department spoke to all passengers on board and passengers near the patient were given instructions on monitoring their health.

Two people wearing masks and gloves were seen walking off the plane just before 11 p.m., WPBF reports, and about 30 minutes later, all passengers were allowed off.

PBC fire rescue officials said that area is separate from the main airport terminal and the crews at PBIA are sterilizing the containment area where passengers deplaned.

It was unknown how officials determined that the passenger was infected.
