Thunderstorms threaten NYC-area Monday night, temps dip to low 70s this week

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Monday was a scorcher, but a cold front will arrive in the evening that will bring the mercury down.

On Monday night, expect a shower or thunderstorm in spots, according to AccuWeather. A thunderstorm could be heavy and gusty.  

It will be party cloudy, breeze and cooler overnight. Low of 56 degrees.

Tuesday will be breezy, cooler and less humid with sunshine and patchy clouds. The high will be 71 degrees. Tuesday night will be clear and cool with a low of 55 degrees.

On Wednesday, expect it to be sunny to partly cloudy and pleasant. High of 74 degrees. 

Thursday will be sunny, eventually giving way to clouds. High of 74. 

Friday will be a mix of clouds and sunshine, with a high of 74. 

Looking ahead toward the Memorial Day weekend: It should start off dry and nice with clouds increasing Saturday. However, it will turn wetter and more active later Saturday and Saturday night.
