2 men dead, 1 person critically hurt in Queens shooting: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Two men died and a third person was critically hurt in a shooting in Queens Monday afternoon, the NYPD said. 

Police officers found two men shot dead in the vicinity of 137th Avenue and Bennett Street, near the Cynthia Jenkins School, in St. Albans around 2:33 p.m. on Monday, police said. Both men had gunshot wounds to their torsos, according to police.

A third person at the location had a gunshot wound to his head, the NYPD said. He was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. 

Police didn’t immediately release the names and ages of the men who died, or the age of the third person who was injured. 

No one had been arrested in connection with the shootings as of Monday evening, police said. An investigation is ongoing.
