VIDEO: Brooklyn firefighters chase down, detain cyclist who punched 60-year-old woman

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – FDNY firefighters chased down and detained a man on a bike moments after he punched and knocked a woman to the ground in Brooklyn, video shows.

The man on the bike struck the 60-year-old woman in the mouth at random, causing her to fall to the ground at the intersection of Hancock Street and Lewis Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant on the evening of Aug. 26, according to the New York Post and video from the J&A Deli and Grocery.

Moments later, members of Engine 214/Ladder 111 can be seen chasing the cyclist down the block and forcing him to the ground. He was held by the firefighters until police arrived and arrested him.

The alleged attacker, 53-year-old Daniel Biggs, was charged with assault, menacing, harassment and attempted assault, according to the New York Post, which reported he was ordered held on $20,000 but ultimately released without bail following another court appearance.
