NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Five teen boys have been charged days after video captured a 15-year-old girl being attacked by more than a dozen teens on a Brooklyn street corner.
The boys turned themselves in at the 77th precinct and were charged as minors with robbery and gang assault, the NYPD told 1010 WINS on Saturday.
The boys charged include two 14-year-olds, one 15-year-old, one 16-year-old and one 17-year-old.
The NYPD said they're still searching for more suspects.
Video shows the attackers punching, kicking and jumping on her repeatedly near the corner of Sterling Place and Utica Avenue in Crown Heights on Thursday afternoon.
The group of attackers can be seen surrounding the girl from all sides before beating her as she lies on the ground. In one video released by the NYPD Friday, a teen can be seen stealing her shoes during the attack.
The girl suffered bruising and swelling to her face and was taken to NYC Health & Hospitals/Kings County for treatment.
Police said the girl’s sneakers, cellphone and debit card were stolen.
