WATCH: Man sleeping on Bronx sidewalk robbed of $5K

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police on Wednesday are searching for a man caught on video robbing another man of about $5,000 from after he fell asleep on a sidewalk in the Bronx.Listen

According to officials, the 36-year-old victim was laying down unconscious around 1:30 a.m. on July 18th, was outside of a building located at East 164 Street near Morris Avenue in the Concourse section.

A shirtless man is seen on video approaching the victim and searching his pockets. The suspect removed approximately $5,000 from his pants pockets, police said.

The man on the sidewalk was intoxicated at the time the Daily News reports.

The thief then took off on foot, officials said.

Police describe the suspect as a medium-skinned male, approximately 25 to 30-years-old, with a thin build, black long hair.

He was last seen wearing no shirt, black shorts, black sneakers and carrying a red shirt on his shoulder.
