NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A driver and one of his passengers died after they veered off the road and crashed through a fence after they were shot in Queens on Friday, the NYPD said.

The 26-year-old man and his 26-year-old passenger were traveling on Brookville Boulevard, near JFK Airport, when they were both shot, police said.

The driver managed to head north on Rockaway Boulevard for another mile before he swerved into oncoming traffic and crashed through a fence, the NYPD said.

Both men were taken to a nearby hospital, where they were pronounced dead, police said. A woman and a young boy who were in the back seat of the car suffered minor injuries.

Police said it was too soon to say who shot the men, or provide a motive for the shooting.

An investigation is ongoing.
