Dirt biker, 29, critical after hit-and-run collision with SUV in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A dirt bike rider is in critical condition after colliding with an SUV that fled the scene early Thursday in Brooklyn, officials said.

According to police, just before 2:30 a.m., the 29-year-old man was was struck by a Kia Soul while biking on Prospect Place near Thomas S. Boyland Street in Brownsville.

The two men inside the vehicle exited the SUV and ran off, authorities said.

The victim was transported to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, police said.
