NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 14-year-old girl who claimed she escaped a kidnapper in Queens on Monday made the story up, according to a report.

The girl said she was near 123rd Street and 20th Avenue in College Point around 11 p.m. on Monday when a man she didn’t know grabbed her and pulled her into a Honda sedan, the New York Post reported, citing information from police sources.

The man was “carrying a clipboard with her photo attached to it,” the girl said, according to the report.

The girl said the man drove to 129th Street and got out of the sedan to make a call, at which point she fled the car and flagged down help at a gas station, the outlet reported.

At some point during the kidnapping investigation, however, the girl admitted she fabricated the story, according to the outlet.

The girl hadn’t been charged with filing a false report as of Tuesday afternoon, the outlet reported.
