NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Former presidential candidate Andrew Yang officially announced his run for New York City mayor Wednesday night in a video he posted to social media.
"I moved to New York City 25 years ago. I came of age, fell in love, and became a father here. Seeing our City in so much pain breaks my heart," he tweeted, along with the two-minute YouTube video. "Let's fight for a future New York City we. can be proud of - together."
In a subsequent tweet, Yang revealed that his announcement coincided with his 46th birthday, along with a link to contribute to his campaign.
