Woman, 40, killed by man, 46, in apparent murder-suicide in Financial District: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating the apparent murder-suicide deaths of a man and woman in Lower Manhattan Monday morning, officials confirm.

According to police at about 9:20 a.m., a 46-year-old man shot a 40-year-old woman near Greenwich and Morris Streets in the Financial District before turning the gun on himself.

The shooter, believed to be from Canada, confronted the woman and shot her twice in the head before shooting himself in the chest, the Daily News reports.

Police believe a domestic incident led to the shooting.
