New Jersey reports 1,139 new COVID-19 cases, 11 new deaths: Murphy

TRENTON, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- New Jersey’s daily COVID-19 case count remained above 1,000 for the sixth day in a row on Thursday, Gov. Phil Murphy said Friday.

The state reported 1,139 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, bringing its cumulative case total to 225,430, Murphy tweeted.

Essex County reported 194 of the new cases; Hudson County reported 122 of the new cases; and Middlesex County reported 106 of the new cases, the state's COVID-19 tracker shows.

New Jersey also reported 11 new COVID-19-related fatalities, pushing its death toll to 14,484.

As of Thursday, 874 people in the state were hospitalized with confirmed or probable COVID-19 cases, 212 of whom were in intensive care and 73 of whom were on ventilators, according to the tracker.
