Kristen Bell has opened up about seeking marriage counseling with husband Dax Shepard amid public issues in their marriage.

The “Frozen” star, 40, spoke about how  the coronavirus pandemic brought her and her husband closer, but also caused the couple to realize the two needed “a little therapy brush-up,” according to People Magazine.

"Dax and I, when we started this pandemic, were at a point in our marriage where we definitely needed [it,]" said Bell, who revealed that therapy helped to strengthen her marriage.

Bell and Shepard, 46, tied the knot in 2013 and have two children together, Delta, 6, and Lincoln, 7.

"Every couple of years, we're like, 'We're being very antagonistic towards each other,' and we don't want that," Bell said. "We go back to therapy and figure out what I'm not doing that's best for you and what you're not doing that's best for me, and how we can serve this team goal better."

The Golden Globe winner has been open about her recent mental health struggles. Bell said that outside of her successful marriage, the famous couple had trouble adjusting to a new normal during COVID-19.

The Hollywood star credited a new workout routine for her healing.

“I've been struggling the last 2 weeks, for who-knows-why-slash-ALL-the-reasons,” the actress told her 14.6 million Instagram followers. “Today I finally got back on the treadmill, figuratively and literally. And I'm proud. 'Good job, kb,' I said to myself."

She added: "To anyone who's been feeling the same, you can do it. Just do the next right thing. I love u. Xo.”
