Although it may seem like fantasy, this is definitely real life.
Queen guitarist Brian May gave fans a scare when he announced on his Instagram that he’d been hospitalized.
“No - the Virus didn’t get me yet - thank God. Hope you’re all keeping extra-safe out there. A decision to relax controls doesn’t suddenly make the danger go away,” he wrote.
The reason for his hospitalization? He ripped the muscles in his gluteus maximus “to shreds” after working too vehemently in his garden.
“As well as getting over-stretched and harassed by too many demands... I managed to rip my Gluteus Maximus to shreds in a moment of over-enthusiastic gardening,” he wrote.
May is still waiting to find out the extent of his injury and is in constant pain.
“Turns out I did a thorough job,” he said. “This is a couple of days ago - and I won’t be able to walk for a while... or sleep, without a lot of assistance, because the pain is relentless.”
May told he will “need to go dark for a while” as he rests and recuperates from his injury.
Although he’s still experiencing pain and fatigue that comes with the injury, he appears to be dealing with it well as he posted additional videos of himself playing guitar and discussing Britain’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
May hasn’t been shy about giving his thoughts about the COVID-19 pandemic recently revealing he’s gone vegan and questioning whether or not eating animals played a role in the spread of the coronavirus. “That’s a central issue here, this pandemic seemed to come from people eating animals and it’s becoming more well known that eating animals is not the greatest thing for our health,” he said at the time.
