Need a sports bra with guitars on it? Brian May has you covered.
In addition to being a world class musician and astrophysicist, the Queen guitarist is an entrepreneur. Brian May Guitars sells everything from his signature gear to apparel, and there are some new offerings under the latter category.
Most notable is the Official BMG Sports Bra, with the artwork designed by May himself. The item is covered with guitar models and features leggings to match. The sports bras sell for about $45 and comes in five sizes. Here’s the product description on the website:
“Highlighting Brian May's consummate artistic talents, this active wear salutes the entire range of Brian May Guitars with a bright, bold design prominently featuring the united colors of BMG - because it doesn't have to be red to be special!”
The same multi-guitar design can be found on a new reversible gender-fluid waistcoat that “combines the maestro’s artistic flair, his consummate rock and roll style, and a unique celebration of the entire family of Brian May Guitars instruments.”
Queen recently became the first band in history to be commemorated on British coins, but unfortunately they won’t work on May’s online store. Prices range from $16 for the limited edition “brilliant uncirculated” coin to $2,725 silver and gold proof edition for big spenders.
The coin features Queens on both sides: Elizabeth II on one and band imagery on the other. May, Freddie Mercury, Roger Taylor and John Deacon are not depicted, but their instruments are, along with a portion of Queen’s logo.
“This is a big ‘Who could have imagined it?’ moment for us,” May told Billboard. “When we began as Queen, even the first rung of the ladder to recognition seemed remote and unreachable. To have our band recognized and our music celebrated in this way is very touching - a real honor.”
