Calling all "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" fans.
As part of Dane Cook's "Feelin' A-Live" fundraiser, an A-list cast is stepping up to take part in a live table read of the iconic '80s film. The film, directed by Amy Heckerling and Cameron Crowe, celebrated its 38th anniversary last week.
Penn will not be reprising his role of Spicoli, but expresses he is "very confident in the new guy."
Fans can expect more to be added to the stacked lineup, but additional casting has yet to be revealed.
The event aims to benefit the emergency relief nonprofit CORE, cofounded by Penn and CEO Ann Lee. They're currently working to aid the front lines of the fight against COVID-19.
The fundraiser also supports the REFORM Alliance, an organization focused on passing laws that protect the incarcerated population from COVID-19 spread.
Crowe said of the table read event, "Sean brought magic to us on day one, and he is still bringing that magic to the world. We are so excited to be a part of this 2020 take on 'Fast Times at Ridgemont High.' Thank you to this cast, and to Sean, for always honoring the best things in life, love and creativity."
"I'm always game for a giggle," Penn says of the project, "So, to gather remotely for a night of laughs with so many talented folks while providing CORE with much-needed resources to continue our vital work, then consider us fully onboard to play!"
