Nearly 40 years since Disneyland first started offering annual passes, the theme park is discontinuing them effective immediately, per a letter sent to passholders from park president Ken Potrock.

Refunds will begin going out within the next few days to current annual pass holders, and the annual passport program will be ending due to ongoing uncertainty related to when the park will reopen.

Disney is preparing new membership offerings as the California parks remain closed and will examine customer insights, value, and flexibility when it comes to what will be offered.

Those who do have an active annual pass as of March 14, 2020 can still get discounts on merchandise, food, and beverages at select businesses in Downtown Disney & Buena Vista Street. For more added perks for current pass holders you can head here.

Walt Disney World annual pass holders will not be experiencing any changes at this time.
