It’s been more than a decade since Matthew McConaughey has appeared in a romantic comedy.
And while the Oscar winner has since moved on to more serious fare, there is one film he’d still entertain putting his romcom king crown back on for.
In a new interview, McConaughey said he’s open to "possibly" doing a sequel to the 2003 blockbuster “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.”
"Possibly," he told E!'s Daily Pop about reprising his role alongside Kate Hudson. "I mean, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is teed up, you know, teed up for one that you could easily do a sequel. And that was a really good one. As far as romantic comedies go, that was a really good one. And it lasts!”
He added: "People still love that one. I enjoyed that one quite a bit."
17 years ago, Hudson and McConaughey’s chemistry proved electric as the film went on to earn $177 million at the box office.
Earlier this year, Hudson also reminisced about where her and McConaughey’s characters would be up to in the present day.
"I've always thought about what Matthew and I’s characters would be now, if we were still together,” she told Elle.
“It's actually probably a good amount of time [that has passed] to make a movie about it. We probably would have gotten married with kids. We're probably miserable right now!"
After making movie magic on “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,” the pair later reunited for the 2008 romcom “Fool’s Gold.”
