Pepsi is upping their slogan game. Gone are the days of the “Taste of a New Generation” and “More Thank OK.” Fans will be drinking the famous cola now because “That’s What I Like.”
According to Fox News, Pepsi has been known to put numerous different taglines in their campaigns, including “More Than OK” and “Always Be Celebrating.” Their new 2020 campaign was the brand’s first U.S. tagline in two decades.
“Inspired by Pepsi’s most loyal drinkers, who proudly like what they like and live their lives out loud without worrying about what others think – whether it’s clapping at the end of a movie, wearing an over-the-top costume for the fun of it, or simply enjoying Pepsi,” a press release reads.
Todd Kaplan, Vice President of Marketing at Pepsi, commented on the new campaign, saying, "We created this campaign to pay homage to this unapologetic mindset embraced by our most loyal fans."
He continues, “And we know that our most loyal Pepsi drinkers take that enjoyment up a notch, so it is no surprise that they are more likely than non-Pepsi drinkers to belt out a karaoke song, binge-watch their favorite shows, or wear their team jerseys to a rival's home game.”
The ads were developed by Omnicom Group’s Goodby Silverstein & Partners and Alma and will show on TV and streaming devices this weekend during NFL Wild Card games and the Golden Globes.
