USPS announces holiday shipping deadlines for 2020

Whether you're planning on staying put this holiday season or venturing out of your bubble to shop and ship, USPS is warning customers to send mail a bit earlier than usual.

With the expected avalanche of online shopping, there is likely to be a change in business as usual -- best to be prepared.

If you're shipping holiday cards and gifts for Hanukkah (Dec. 10–18), Christmas (Dec. 25), Kwanzaa (Dec. 26–Jan. 1) or other holiday traditions, find the USPS recommended domestic, international, and military deadlines below:

2020 Holiday Shipping Dates for Alaska & Hawaii

Recommended send-by dates for expected delivery before December 25.
Alaska: 12/18 for First Class; 12/18 for Priority; and 12/21 for Priority Mail Express
Hawaii: 12/15 for First Class; 12/15 for Priority; and 12/21 for Priority Mail Express

International Mail: Some regions are as early as 11/30 and others as late as 12/22.
