The Backstreet Boys proved they have entertainment value in any era during an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
They perfectly clashed styles while performing Sisqo’s “Thong Song” as a barbershop chorus with the host. AJ McLean, Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson took an R&B song that was everywhere in 2000 and unironically added their smooth harmonies to it.
Fallon also had a chance to ask the Backstreet Boys to clear up some long-standing rumors involving the group. Here’s what we can tell you: Ryan Gosling was kind of almost a member of the group but not really, and there is no rivalry with *NSYNC. “Those were guys following their dreams; we were following our dreams,” said Richardson.
The Backstreets Boys’ dream lives on with yet another trip around the globe. The “I Want it That Way” quintet is extending its DNA world tour with 45 additional North American dates this summer and fall, and they can’t wait to get started.
“We give our fans 100%, night after night, putting on the best Backstreet Boys show we can,” McLean said in a statement. “We play our hits, we dance our asses off and we do it because we love our fans. We have the best fans in the world. They come out to party and they sing at the top of their lungs and we feed off that energy. We can’t wait to take this show on the road again this summer.”
The new leg of the tour begins July 10th on Long Island and runs through October 9th with a stop at the iconic Hollywood Bowl. You can buy tickets here after they go on sale to the public on Valentine's Day.
