Ezekiel Elliott On Cowboys Offense: 'We're All Gonna Eat'

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott has a message for all the naysayers who believe there aren't enough touches to go around in the team's loaded offense.
A day after receiver Amari Cooper declared that the "expectations" this season are that the team will deploy three 1,000-yard receivers, Elliott calmed the fears of any of his potential fantasy football owners.

We all gonna EAT. Don’t try to start that messy --. https://t.co/ovu0NpjXqX

In response to a tweet from ESPN's Ed Werder who questioned how Elliott will pad the stats this season with Cooper's "expectations," Elliott said in a tweet, "we are all gonna EAT. Don't try to start that messy (crap)."

New Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy already has a plan for Elliott and he agrees with his running back's sentiment.

“First off, with Zeke, he’s going to get the football,” McCarthy said previously. “Let’s make no mistake about that.''

Under former head coach Jason Garrett and offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, the Cowboys proved that Elliott will put up numbers despite being surrounded by talented pass catchers. For instance, in 2019, Elliott rushed for over 1,300 yards and 12 touchdowns, while adding 54 catches for 420 yards and two more scores. All the while, Cooper and Michael Gallup each had over 1,000-yard seasons and combined for 14 touchdowns. Throw-in Randall Cobb's 800-yard plus season and his three touchdowns, and you'll see Elliott's point is spot-on.
