Doncic has led the Mavericks to 13-6 record in 2019-20 with averages of 30.6 points, 9.9 rebounds and 9.6 assists per game.

The 20-year-old becomes the youngest player in Western Conference history to win the award since the league began issuing it in 2001-2002.

It is the eighth time in franchise history a Maverick has won the honor. Dirk Nowitzki won the award five times in his career, while Michael Finley and Steve Nash shared the honor with Nowitzki in November 2002.

Mark Aguirre became the first Maverick to win the award in January 1984.
