DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - With the Dallas Cowboys half-way through their preseason schedule, and getting closer to the regular-season opener Sept. 8, ...  it's about time to make a decision on DeMarcus Lawrence.
According to Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, the Cowboys are in the process of doing just that and are expected to activate Lawrence off of the PUP list "soon."

#Cowboys DE DeMarcus Lawrence (shoulder) is expected to come off the PUP list soon, source says. Lawrence will be limited at first but has been hoping to be ready for Week 1 vs. the #Giants and it looks like that’s a reasonable goal.

Garafolo reports that Lawrence will be limited at first but is hopeful that he'll be ready in time for the opener against the New York Giants. He isn't expected to participate in the team's two final preseason games.

For his part, Lawrence has always believed he would be ready to play when the season kicked off.

"I'll definitely be ready for the start of the season,'' Lawrence said when he signed his 5-year, $105 million deal in April. "I ain't worrying about that. It's just about getting it done and over with. That's all it is."

Lawrence underwent a procedure on his shoulder on April 11. The team said the injury has a four to six month recovery time, which would put Lawrence right in the middle of that timeframe.
