DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - With Jalen Brunson's status for the re-start in doubt, the Mavericks have their eye on adding to their point guard depth, with Trey Burke among the players they have an interest in, ESPN's Tim MacMahon reports.

Source: Mavs have interest in signing PG Trey Burke before NBA’s restart. Burke, who was waived by the 76ers in February, averaged 9.7 points and 2.6 assists in 25 games for Dallas last season. Mavs need PG depth with Jalen Brunson out due to shoulder surgery.

Burke averaged 9.7 points and 2.6 assists in 25 games for Dallas last season. He appeared in 25 games this season with the 76ers, averaging 5.9 points and 2.1 assists per game.

It's still unknown whether Brunson will be available to return to action after he underwent surgery on his torn labrum during the break.

Brunson told 105.3 The Fan on May 1 that he wouldn't be able to return if the league had returned in June, but didn't reveal if he could return to play in July or August.

The season is set to resume in Orlando on July 30.

According to Marc Stein of the New York Times, Dallas has also been looking at reinforcements for injured swingman Courtney Lee, who suffered a calf injury that required surgery over the break.
