Sean Lee To Play In 2020, Could Return To Cowboys

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Sean Lee will play in 2020, his agent tells Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
In a one-on-one interview with 105.3 The Fan's Mike Fisher released on Friday, Lee said he was "focusing on playing as of now."

#Cowboys LB Sean Lee, at 33 years old, is playing in 2020, his agent @MikeMcCartney7 says. Considering how strong Lee finished last season — double digit tackles in two of his last five games — this makes sense. He’ll test free agency, but also could return to Dallas.

The 33-year-old, who will turn 34 in July, will test free agency, but could return to the Cowboys. In his exclusive visit with Fish, he said he hopes to finalize  his plans "and will know fairly soon" what his next step will be.

As of a few weeks ago, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones listed Sean Lee as an important transaction this offseason behind Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper.

Lee played in all 16 games in 2019. It was the first time he had played an entire season in his 10-year career. He finished the year with 86 tackles, a sack, and an interception.

The Cowboys have Jaylon Smith and hopefully a healthy Leighton Vander Esch ready to go at the linebacker position next season. Vander Esch underwent surgery to repair the nerve issue in his neck in January and team officials hope he will be available during the team's offseason program.

Despite the fact that Lee has "options" available to him, bringing back Lee makes a lot of sense for the Cowboys.

"I love it in Dallas and I love the Cowboys," Lee told Fish. "I hope it works out, for sure."
