Tony Romo To Compete In Korn Ferry Tour Tournament In Arlington

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Tony Romo has earned another sponsor's exemption for a PGA tournament. This time, however, Romo will be competing on the Korn Ferry Tour (previously the Web.Com Tour), which is the developmental tour of the PGA.

The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and TV analyst free agent will compete in the Veritex Bank Championship on April 16-19 at Texas Rangers Golf Glub in Arlington.

“I am very excited about the opportunity to play at the Veritex Bank Championship against the future PGA TOUR stars”, Romo stated. “Playing in the shadows of AT&T Stadium and having the tournament in my own back yard will be great. I have been working hard on my game and hope to make a little noise during the championship.”

Romo, who has never participated in a tournament on the Korn Ferry Tour, competed in a qualifying tournament to get on the Tour in 2018, finishing the first stage of the competition tied for 72nd at 13-under 297 in the 76-player field, with the top 22 moving on to the second stage.

Romo has previously been awarded sponsor's exemptions to play in the PGA Tour's AT&T Byron Nelson (2019) and the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship (2018, 2019).
