Source: Cowboys Not Among Teams In On Weddle

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Cowboys would like to upgrade their safety position this offseason but it appears they won't be bringing in one of the top safeties available on the free agent market.

According to a source, Dallas is not among the teams that are in on veteran Eric Weddle. 

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported earlier Friday that Weddle had 11 offers as soon as he was released by the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday. Weddle has since narrowed down his list to five teams but the Cowboys weren't one the 11 teams to inquire about him.  

The 34-year-old Weddle started in every game the last three seasons for the Ravens after spending the first nine years of his career with the San Diego (now Los Angeles) Chargers. 

The move will reportedly save the Ravens $7.5 million in salary cap space for 2019. Weddle was set to earn $9.25 million on the last year of his four-year contract, per Spotrac.

Earl Thomas, Landon Collins and Tyrann Mathieu are the other top safety options on the open market. 

Earlier this week it was reported that the Cowboys were out on Thomas - unless they're not.
