Cowboys' guard Zack Martin officially ruled out this Sunday due to concussion

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Already heading into the matchup with a banged up offensive line, the Dallas Cowboys took another hit in the injury department on Friday, when it was announced that starting right guard Zack Martin will miss Sunday's game against the Washington Football Team.

Martin left the Cowboys Monday night football loss to the Arizona Cardinals with a concussion, and spent the week in the NFL's concussion protocol, hoping to progress enough to return to action.

Unfortunately for Dallas, that was not to be, and the team will be without the six-time pro bowler.

Without Martin in the lineup, the only original start remaining on the offensive line is 23-year-old left guard Connor Williams, who has struggled this season with his consistency.

Taking the place of martin in the starting lineup will be second-year guard Connor McGovern, who made his NFL debut this week.

The Cowboys also lost tackle Brandon Knight last week against the Cardinals, but will finally get some relief at the position, with veteran tackle and former Super Bowl champion Cameron Erving returning to action for the first time since the season opener.

Erving is likely to start at left tackle, with rookie Terence Steele moving to right tackle, Connor Williams at left guard, rookie Tyler Biadasz at center, and the aforementioned McGovern taking Martin's spot at right guard.

The Cowboys and the Washington Football Team will kick off at noon on Sunday from FedExField in Landover, Maryland.
