DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Mavericks COVID-19 situation appears to be getting worse.

According to Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News, two more Mavericks players have tested positive for the virus, bringing the team's total of positive tests to four.

Townsend reports that the two new positive tests came from players who are currently with the team, and didn't come from the players who remain quarantined in Denver.

Dorian Finney-Smith, Jalen Brunson and Josh Richardson all remain in the league's Health and Safety Protocol after entering it on Jan. 8. Two days later, Maxi Kleber entered the protocol after his test came back positive the day after the team's 112-98 win over the Magic.

The Mavs were set to return to the floor Monday night against the Pelicans but the NBA postponed the game while they continue contract tracing within the organization.
