DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Oklahoma wide receiver and holder Spencer Jones nearly lost an eye in a bar fight in Norman on Valentine's Day, OU Daily reports.

Video of the wild fight between Jones and the unknown male spread across social media over the past few days (NSFW).

It's unclear what started the argument, but the video shows the assailant taking Jones to the ground and repeatedly striking him in the face before placing him in a chokehold. The fight resulted in Jones suffering a very serious eye injury.

“Dr. Brooks came out of that surgery saying he’s extraordinarily lucky at this point, that he’s lucky he didn’t lose the eye altogether,” the player's attorney said, via OU Daily. “And so he was able to do some things surgically to rebuild that orbital socket and thinks everything is eventually going to come back to normal, but it’s going to take a while for him to fully recover.”

Jones' attorney went on to say that the player was attempting to de-escalate the situation by "trying to be a peacekeeper."

Norman Police are now investigating the incident.
