PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Phil Kessel spend four years in Pittsburgh, won two Stanley Cups and stole the hearts of Pittsburgh with hit attitude, humor and work ethic.
Kessel never missed a game while in a Penguins uniform and on Friday night while it was strange to see him in an Arizona jersey, it still felt like he was home.
Halfway through the first period of Friday’s 2-0 Penguins victory, the club honored Kessel with a tribute video welcoming him back to Pittsburgh.
After it was over the crowd gave Kessel a standing ovation while he stood on the ice with a big smile on his face.
Penguins center and longtime linemate of Kessel, Evgeni Malkin gave Kessel a fist bump that made the crowd erupt once again.
