Saints fined, will lose draft pick following violation on NFL's COVID-19 protocols, report says

The New Orleans Saints have been fined $500,000 and will forfeit a seventh-round draft pick as part of the NFL’s discipline for violating the league’s COVID-19 protocol according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Mike Triplett.

Per the report, the fine stems from videos of the team’s locker room celebration following a 38-3 win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier this month.
Players and coach Sean Payton showed off their dance moves in videos that went viral after the big win.

The disciplinary action from the NFL is also reportedly related to a meeting the team held.

The Saints had already been fined this season for a violation of the NFL’s COVID-19 protocols after their Week 2 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. The franchise and Payton were fined a combine $350,000 for improper mask use on the sidelines during that game.
