Orlando, FL - The Milwaukee Bucks get a hardfought 119-112 victory over the Boston Celtics in their first game in the NBA's return to play. The Bucks raced out to a 17-2 lead but Boston would slowly battle back and hang around for the better part of three quarters before Milwaukee pulled away in the final minutes. Giannis Antetokounmpo, who led the way as usual with 36 points and 15 rebounds, had perhaps the biggest shot of the game in crunch time, a hoop and harm with a minute and a half to go.

Khris Middleton added 18 points, including a big three pointer late to put space between them and the Celtics. Jayson Tatum struggled with his shot all night for Boston going just 2/18 from the floor and finished with five points. Marcus Smart led the Celtics with 23 points off the bench. He also had some interesting comments after the game:

Smart says the referees told him the "excuse" the referees told him that the charge was overturned on Giannis Antetokounmpo was because he got in the lane late. He said the "real reason" was that they didn't want Giannis to foul out. "Let's call a spade a spade," he said.
