Packers Gutenkunst: "So far, so good"

GREEN BAY, WI - Packers general manager Brian Gutenkunst says "so far, so good." 

There are no new cases of COVID 19 to report amongst the Packers players.

And no other players have opted out of playing this season due to the pandemic. 

Last week four players, including veteran place kicker Mason Crosby, tight end Jace Sternberger, newly acquired defensive lineman Treyvon Hester, and back-up linebacker Greg Roberts tested positive for the coronavirus during their first testing before being allowed to enter the team facilities. 

Wide receiver Devin Funchess opted out citing family reasons. On Sunday Gutenkunst says he was fine with the former Colts and Panthers receiver's decision, who cited family reasons.

"It was not an easy decision for him, but we respect his decision," said Gutenkunst, who enters his third year as the team's general manager. 

It may be another two weeks before the players hit the practice field, and put on pads, to prepare for their season opener against the Minnesota Vikings at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on Sept. 13th  READ MORE HERE
