The Orioles are fresh off signing a frachise record 27 international prospects this week. Today, their Senior Director of International Scouting, Koby Perez, joined Terry Ford to discuss those signings and the future of their international scouting department.
Perez gave us a scouting report on the three headliner signings this week: OF Luis Gonzalez, LHP Luis Ortiz and SS Leonel Sanchez. He explained the process of scouting and signing international players, he talked about his first impressions of the Orioles international scouting department when he took the job and he also said the Orioles are probably 3 years away from catching up with the rest of the international scouting departments around the majors.
