DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Cowboys starting quarterback Andy Dalton was forced to leave the game against the Washington Football Team early in the third quarter after taking a nasty helmet-to-helmet hit from linebacker Jon Bostic.

Dalton had to be helped to the locker room following the hit, is being evaluated for a concussion, and is unlikely to return to the game.

Bostic was immediately ejected from the game after the hit.

Back up quarterback Ben DiNucci, who the Cowboys took in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft, took over in relief of Dalton, and two plays later hit Amari Cooper on a 32-yard gain.

From there, however, the Cowboys were unable to keep the ball moving and were forced to punt following a sack.
