Many would think the opposite, but Week 1 is actually one of the tougher weeks on the fantasy football calendar. Later in the year when rosters are inevitably thinned out by injuries, forcing us into desperation mode with frenzied waiver pickups and 11th-hour trades, our lineup decisions become much simpler. But in Week 1, when everyone is at our disposal, choosing between two players with similar projections can be an almost paralyzing task.
But fear not, fellow PPR explorers. I won’t let you travel the fantasy high seas without a map. Host Stephen Andress, Jordan Cohn and I gathered to discuss a variety of Week 1 talking points, sharing our preferred waiver adds, which team stacks and streamers to pursue (pro tip: always target games with high Vegas totals) and a few under-the-radar “stealth” plays to help you start your fantasy season off on the right foot. This will be a weekly staple here at RADIO.COM, so be on the lookout for another episode of the Fantasy Football Show next week. Props to producer Jack Roberts for all his hard work behind the scenes.
Good luck to everyone in your matchups this week, except for Stephen, who I have the pleasure of facing in the RDC staff league. ESPN’s projections have Andress pegged as a narrow four-point favorite, but I’d like to think Derrick Henry and Miles Sanders will have a little something to say about that.
