Notification from the SC Department of Transportation:
Drivers need to be ready for a temporary road closure that will affect I-85 NB traffic seeking I-385 or Woodruff Road this weekend on the 85-385 Gateway Project. The I-85 North collector/distributor, which are the access lanes for the Interstate, will be closed from Saturday, July 13, at 7 p.m. through Sunday, July 14, at 3 p.m. to allow for construction of new lanes.
The I-85 NB traffic seeking I-385 or Woodruff Road will be detoured to turn around at Exit 56 (Highway 14) and then access I-385 and Woodruff Road via I-85 South Exit 51A-C.
In addition, traffic on westbound Woodruff Road seeking I-85 North will be detoured to Roper Mountain Road then onto I-385 South and then Exit 36A to I-85.
Traffic on eastbound Woodruff Road seeking I-85 North will be detoured to I-385 North then Exit 36A to I-85. Upon completion of the work, motorists traveling I-85 NB will have two exit lanes available to access the collector/distributor.
As always, drivers are advised to use caution and follow speed limits on the roadways.
