The City of Greenville is hosting two events designed to encourage residents to incorporate sustainability into their lifestyle while making it easy, convenient and fun.
The first is the Earth Day Festival, this Saturday, April 13 from 10am to 2pm at the Greenville Public Works campus, 475 Fairforest Way.
The following Saturday, April 20, will be the spring Shredding & E-Waste Recycling Day. It will also be at the Public Works Campus, from 10am to 1pm. This is where you can dispose of unwanted electronics and have sensitive documents destroyed and recycled in a secure manner. It is also free. The City says that all paper that is to be shredded MUST be bagged or boxed, and each person is limited to three large trash bags or three small boxes of paper. Bags and boxes must be intact, with no rips or tears. Reusable bags, boxes or containers will be returned to you.
Durable compost bins will be available for purchase at the event while supplies last.
