The GSP International Airport has taken multiple steps towards creating a safer way to travel during the novel coronavirus pandemic.
David N. Edwards, Jr., the president and CEO, reported in a letter that air travel activity decreased by 95% at the nation's airports.
Edwards also reported airline partners have added over 50 new flights per week for the month of July.
Their response plan for COVID-19, titled Prepare for Takeoff, has created changes and new procedures.
In a release, GSP said this includes "enhanced cleaning, plexiglass shields, recommended face masks while in public areas, hand sanitation stations, social distancing markers and friendly reminders throughout the terminal building."
Additionally, vending machines filled with personal protective equipment are available on Concourses A and B.
The PPE vending machines sell masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant spray.
More information is available on the GSP COVID-19 response page.
