Released by the Greenville Police Department.

The Greenville Police Department will be using the next few days as a time of educating the public and making them aware of the new executive order issued by the SC Governor that authorizes law enforcement to prohibit or disperse groups of 3 or more in a public area.
This does not apply to people waiting in line to pick up food or students at food distribution locations.
However, social distancing should still be observed during these times.
Our hope is that the community works with us so that we gain voluntary compliance, and can focus our efforts to continue to serve our community during this time.
In addition to the new law in place, Falls Park has been closed and additional units assigned to patrol the city parks as well as the downtown area.
A curfew for the Central Business District area will go into effect Wednesday night (3/25) at 11pm.
The hours for the curfew are 11pm-6am.
This will be restricting travel as well as any gatherings of people, with the exception of people traveling to and from work or for healthcare purposes.
